from noon until we’re tired
(rain or shine 🙂 )

That’s the next Pacific Northwest Corgi Picnic at the home of Leo & Kathy Notenboom (or, rather, Dagmar, Sammie and Chester Notenboom) in the Hollywood Hill area of Woodinville (a suburb of Seattle).

IMPORTANT: Pre-Registration will be required this year. Please keep reading…

For those not familiar with the event, for over 15 years now we’ve opened our acre+ fenced yard to all Corgwyn willing to make the trek. All Corgis, their not-a-Corgi guests as well as their humans are invited. As always, all must be well behaved and play well with others – humans and Corgis alike.

Last year we had an estimated 150 attendees – that’s 150 people and as many dogs running around our back yard. It was awesome!

And it was also too much.

As a result, after agonizing over several different alternatives, we’ve made the very difficult decision to simply limit attendance this year. We’re going to require that all guests pre-register, and are limiting attendance to 100. There’ll be a $10 registration fee per person (if it can walk on two legs, it’s a person 🙂 ). 100% of these proceeds will be donated to Corgiaid. You’ll also get a token good for one hotdog or pizza slice from our caterer.

RSVP: Register here. Once you register you’ll get directions (if you’ve never been here, you will need them – the address is not enough) as well as any additional instructions necessary.

UPDATE: The event has sold out (within a week of being announced, no less), however please do go register to be placed on the waiting list. If people can’t come and back out (which almost always happens), then some slots should open up.

Parking: Parking will be in what we refer to as our “back pasture”, which is behind the house to the east. There will be signs.

Food Service: The picnic will once again be catered by DogFather catering. Each person registered will get a ticket for one free hotdog or pizza slice. Additional dogs and slices will be available at DogFather’s posted rates.

Feel free to bring a side-dish or snacks (though an extra donation to CorgiAid would be just as welcome 🙂 ). Oh, and expect Corgi-thievery – so don’t bring something that would easily make the dogs sick.

Terms

Based on experience we’ve had to add a couple of terms – registering for the picnic implicitly accepts these terms:

  • Attendance is as your own risk; the organizers cannot be held liable for damage or injury to guests or their pets.
  • Pet owners are responsible for picking up their pets waste as best they can and depositing in the receptacles provided.

Please remember that if we ask you to perhaps put your dog on leash or in time-out it’s for everyone’s safety. Even if your dog is simply being exceptionally playful, it can sometimes incite others who aren’t as well behaved. We don’t want 100 dogs to suddenly decide they’re a pack and act accordingly.
